Hope Fire Company is a not-for-profit, independent, volunteer fire company that responds to emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This past year we responded to over 350 calls, with current operating expenses at approximately $300,000 annually. This equates to one single service call at a cost of $860. We never charge for our emergency services, and much unlike surrounding communities, you do not pay a dedicated fire tax. We respond to emergencies, complete required as well as supplemental training, and provide ancillary community services at no mandatory cost to you, the resident. As you tighten your belt in these difficult economic times, so are we. We embark yearly on a continuing effort to consolidate expenses, minimize waste, as well as expand our fundraising events. We will continue to hold our annual Turkey Dinner, as well as our Car Show, which are very popular events in the community. It truly is your generosity that allows us to continue to proudly and effectively serve the community. As always, we make an effort to be open to the public as much as possible, and as a resident, we want you to feel free and comfortable to come to the firehouse, meet our members, and find what difference your donations are making.
