pOn Saturday May 7th area firefighters converged on the Horse Park of New Jersey as an opportunity to host a training exercise for one of the Monmouth County Fire Marshal Offices Large Diameter Hose Task Forces.nbspThis training exercise also was an opportunity to assist the Horse Park of New Jersey with filling a pond on the premises which is utilized for horse competitions.nbspFire Departments that participated in this exercise included the Hope Fire Company the Millstone Township Fire Department the Manalapan Township Fire Company 1 the Gordons Corner Fire Company of Manalapan and the Freehold Township Independent Fir Company.nbspFirefighters utilized a pond on the Horse Park property to draft water out of and then pumped it through five inch supply hose to fire engines that were spaced 800 feet apart.nbspA total of 4800 feet of supply was used to and this provided the participating departments an opportunity to train should the situation arise to move water a lengthy distance.nbspIn total approximately 80000 gallons of water was moved in under an hour.nbspNumerous representatives from the Monmouth County Fire Marshalls Office were on location for this exercise and the drill was led by Fire Coordinator Ed Reed who is a past Chief of the Millstone Township Fire Department.p
